Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Crossness
Man with Van Crossness is committed to conducting business in a lawful, ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all activities carried out by Man with Van Crossness, including services, procurement and contractor relationships.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We have a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, child labour and exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, contractor, supplier or business partner that is involved in, supports or turns a blind eye to such practices.
All staff, including permanent, temporary and agency workers, are expected to uphold this commitment in their day-to-day work. Any behaviour that conflicts with this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Our Supply Chain Standards
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, storage facilities, technology, and other support services. We expect every supplier and contractor to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and to comply with all relevant legislation and regulations in the jurisdictions where they operate.
As part of our engagement process, we seek confirmation from key suppliers that they understand and adhere to modern slavery requirements. We prioritise working with suppliers that can demonstrate strong labour standards, transparent employment practices and effective oversight of their own supply chains.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
We are committed to improving transparency in our supply chain through proportionate and risk-based due diligence. Where there is a higher risk of labour exploitation, we may carry out more detailed checks on suppliers and contractors.
Our approach to supplier audits and due diligence may include requesting information on workforce conditions, reviewing policies on labour and human rights, and seeking evidence of training and compliance with applicable laws. Where concerns arise, we may request corrective actions and will monitor progress. If a supplier fails to address legitimate concerns, we will consider suspending or ending the business relationship.
Staff Awareness, Training and Responsibilities
We aim to ensure that relevant staff understand the signs of modern slavery and know how to respond to concerns. This may include awareness-raising during onboarding, periodic briefings and access to guidance materials. Managers are responsible for promoting ethical conduct and ensuring that staff and contractors working under their supervision comply with this statement.
Every individual working with or for Man with Van Crossness is encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any concerns about potential modern slavery risks. Turning a blind eye to suspected wrongdoing is not acceptable and is contrary to our values.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone who becomes aware of, or suspects, any form of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business to report it without delay. Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or, where appropriate, through external authorities and organisations dedicated to tackling exploitation.
We will treat all reports seriously and will investigate them promptly and fairly where they relate to our business or supply chain. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Confidentiality will be respected as far as practicable, and information will be shared only with those who need to know in order to address the issue.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. We are committed to reviewing and, where necessary, strengthening our policies, training and due diligence processes to respond to emerging risks and best practice.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every year by the leadership of Man with Van Crossness. The annual review will consider any incidents, audit findings, changes in law or guidance, and feedback from staff or stakeholders. Where improvements are identified, we will implement them in a timely manner and communicate any significant changes within the business.
By maintaining a zero-tolerance stance, conducting supplier audits, providing clear reporting channels and reviewing this statement annually, Man with Van Crossness seeks to minimise the risk of modern slavery in its operations and supply chains and to contribute positively to the wider effort to eradicate exploitation.
